⚠️ Safety
- Bromine water is toxic and corrosive — its vapour irritates eyes/lungs; use in a fume cupboard and never pipette by mouth.
- Dilute KMnO₄ is a strong oxidiser that stains skin and clothing brown; handle with care.
- Organic samples (cyclohexene, cyclohexane) are volatile and highly flammable — keep away from flames/sparks.
- Ethylene is a flammable gas; bubble it in only in a well-ventilated area, no naked flame.
- Wear goggles and gloves; collect halogen/organic waste separately for disposal.
