⚠️ Safety

  • Aniline is toxic and absorbed through skin — wear gloves, avoid contact/inhalation.
  • Phenol is corrosive and causes severe skin burns; handle with care.
  • Carbylamine test makes a foul, toxic isocyanide — do it in a fume cupboard; destroy the residue with acid.
  • Conc. H₂SO₄ (ester/Liebermann tests) and bromine water are corrosive; add acid to water, use a fume cupboard.
  • Glacial acetic acid is corrosive and pungent. Wear goggles; collect organic/halogen waste separately.
