Predict before you react

Think about the target salt and the method chosen for it.

Action

Lock a prediction to enable the reaction.

⚠️ Safety

  • Neutralisation: dilute HCl and NaOH are corrosive — wear goggles, add acid slowly, and rinse spills with water.
  • Precipitation: silver nitrate (AgNO₃) is toxic and stains skin/clothes black — handle with care and avoid contact.
  • Direct combination: heating iron + sulphur is strongly exothermic once started — heat gently, work in a fume cupboard, and beware toxic SO₂ from excess sulphur.
  • Dispose of silver and heavy-metal residues in the labelled waste container, not down the sink.
